Why an Engagement Session?

Many couples think of an Engagement Session just as an opportunity to get pictures for the Save-The-Date but there are SO many more reasons! 1. It gives you a chance to "get the jitters out" and realize what it feels like to work with your photographer and learn the basics of posing and getting comfortable in front of the lens. 2. We get to know each other. Trust me, having a dude stare at you with a lens and say "Kiss!" is weird - I get it. When we learn each others personalities and lay the foundation of a friendship then on the wedding day more natural smiles will come out because you'll be thining "oh, Keith is here" not "oh, that guy we hired 8 months ago just showed up".

3. This is the real you. The wedding pictures are "super you" in the formal dress and tux, but these photos represent the real you in everyday clothes.

4. The wedding is an event with focus on the activities of that event. An engagement session only has one focus - you. The full hour is only about the two of you. We actually have MORE time to get creative and fun than at the wedding.

5. You'll be amazed how many times leading up to the wedding you'll hope you have a nice photo of the two of you. Its way more than just the save-the-date and you don't want to keep showing the same one over and over. Ive had couples say "Oh, our friend did our engagement session". Trust me, it's not the same.
