The sun sets behind the tent and with the huge lawn you can absolutely get out into a wide patch of grass and see the sunset wonderfully. It'll go behind the trees, so you're not seeing the horizon but you're getting all the colors on the clouds.

There really isn't much of an "inside", but worst case you can get into the barn or under the tent and just point outwards so you can see the beautiful backdrop without a drop of rain on you. The tent lights perfectly for any dancing well into the night.

A photography perspective on this venue

Terrydiddle Farm is a privately owned property that hosts outdoor wedding ceremonies and tented receptions. They do a FANTASTIC job and have such a great vibe - it's just perfect! The food is catered and unbelievably good. Last wedding we shot there they had BBQ, ribs, pulled pork, Mac & Cheese, corn bread, etc. The property has a beautiful bridal suite, an amazing barn that acts as the backdrop to photos and doubles as the bar area during cocktail hour and there's a huge lawn for playing corn hole and other lawn games. The walkway is lined by horse coralls and a gorgeous pond with a fountain. The tent is on a solid concrete foundation and plenty big enough for your guests and a dance floor. If you don't want the standard wedding factory style wedding, this is for you!

Ceremony

The ceremony is outdoors along the path that leads from the horses to the barn so the the lawn, path and pond are the backdrop. If it rains, you'd probably end up either in the barn or under the tent but regardless it's gorgeous.

Yeah, you're betting on good weather for a wedding at Terrydiddle Farm. It's basically all outside and even under the tent it could get sketchy if the rain is really strong. It's rare for a day to be completley rained out in the summer. It's usually just passing showers that clear up later, so don't be scared away worrying. It's worth it to go for it.

It's different. Period. It's not your typical wedding venue and for that very reason it has a more relaxed chill vibe that matters. If you don't want the stuffy, fancy foo-foo weddings of those wedding factories at the golf courses and hotels, this is a place to consider.

Legit anywhere. It's that gorgeous. From the barn to the pond to the lawn you can literally turn in any direction and get a clean beautiful backdrop for photos. I typically go over by the pond just past the fire pit because it's close and easy after a ceremony to gather people then they can join cocktail hour right there at the barn after their photos.

Later in the day is always best for photos because we don't want to have to fight the sun but it's easy enough to get any great photos around the property at any time. About 20 minutes before sunset we'll take you on a quick tour of the property to get all those soft-light romantic and fun photos as well.

Absolutely! The first look gives you a chance to truly see each other. Express your thoughts. BE together for a moment - away from everyone else. Now you get to enjoy your own cocktail hour. Now it's not such a whirlwind. You're not as rushed, so less anxiety. Totally worth considering.

For the traditional "I want to see her coming down the aisle", let me give some perspective. First, when she gets there you need to just shut up and get married. You can't stop and talk. At a first look you can. Second, that heart-fluttering HOLY CRAP feeling when all your guests stand and you realize this is real, this is happening! In all my years, I've only had maybe a handful of weddings that were 100% completely washed out. It's so rare it's not worth discussing. Yeah, maybe the ceremony gets moved into the barn or under the tent. Maybe the family and wedding party pics are in the barn or tent but there will almost certainly be an opportunity between drops to run outside for a few pics of the two of you.

It's a summer venue. That means the sun sets late and any rain is probably a cloud burst that's gone in 20 minutes. We WILL get outside for pics. Just might not fit your timeline, but don't worry about that. We'll get the shots.

I typically like an hour, but I'm SUPER efficient. It really comes down to how large your group is. How many in the wedding party? How big is your family? Are there divorces with step family? Are there grandparents? Do you want to include aunts, uncles, cousins? The smaller the group the easier it is obviously.

7. Can we stay on schedule without feeling rushed?

This is my super power. You could be WAY behind schedule, then it comes time for the family and wedding party pics and poof, you're back on schedule. I can be amazingly efficient to power through all those combinations so you can lower the anxiety and not lose any of your wedding. Plus, this isn't a "corporate" venue with bosses ensuring the timeline is perfect. The owners are super chill and want you to get exactly what YOU want, so no worries there.

Just behing the tent is a wooden fence that is almost kinda overgrown with greenery and it's the absolutely most beautiful look ever. Go just past the bathroom and the lawn by the rock walls is stunning for a natural look. The pond obviously stands out as the most iconic shot on the property and the arichitecture of the barn is unmatched anywhere. Seriously, this is a property where you don't want to hope there's photo opportunities - they're everywhere.

I wouldn't be talking about it otherwise - absolutely. There's a benefit to knowing the flow of things. Where you're allowed to go and where's off-limits. Knowing where the shadows will fall and knowing what will be in bloom. Even just knowing how the staff approaches the day and their personalities. It all helps make the entire day run smoothly for you. There's an unspoken "nod and wink" between me and the day-of coordinator keeping everything perfect so you get the most out of the day.

There really aren't any "watch out for this" things going on at Terrydiddle. No red flags - It's pretty straightforward and easy. Just know going in that you're hoping for good weather and 99% of the time it works out stunningly perfect.

I personally would start looking closer if you're over 125. The tent is only so big, so the more tables you add the smaller the dance floor gets.
