It's so much more than just photography

When Kris was getting ready (before leaving for the venue) we realized the flowers hadn't arrived yet. We were planning on doing a first look and all the formals before the ceremony. I could tell she was getting anxious. She had a bridesmaid call the florist. Of course, the conversation was something like "Where are you and when will you be here?". I asked if I could take the phone and talk to the florist. I coordinated with them to meet us at the venue 15 minutes later than they had planned instead of coming to the house. It saved the florist time and saved the girls from having to carry them to the venue. It also put Kris at ease that it was all taken care of.

We did all the family and wedding party pictures outside before some very heavy rain hit. I kept a close eye on the rain and as soon as it let up (about 30 minutes after sunset) we ran outside to get more pictures of just Kris and Will. The middle picture below with that deep blue sky is one of them = 30 minutes AFTER sunset!

When you hire a photographer, it's SO much more than just taking pictures. It's having a professional on your team that knows how to coordinate your event. How to work with other vendors. How to anticipate issues and resolve them immediately. How to take risks, manage time and foresee the future to get every shot possible.
